EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES

We have a variety of positions available throughout the Chicagoland area, primarily in the northwestern and southwestern suburbs.  Check in person to find out what specific positions are available at this time at your location of choice.  All position requirements are compliant with Illinois Department of Transportation regulations.

 

Here is a list of the typical positions which may be available and general job requirements.

 

School Bus Drivers

Drivers are responsible for presenting a professional, positive company image as they safely drive students to and from school or school events.  Successful candidates must be 21 years old, with a valid driver’s license with no suspensions for the last three years.  The position requires the ability to meet all Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) requirements, including maintenance of a valid Commercial Driver’s License and valid permit requirements. Pre-employment training and ongoing in-service training is available. 

 

Monitors

Monitors manage student behavior and safety on board the bus while loading and unloading passengers, cooperating closely with the bus driver and school officials.  This   position requires the ability to assist students on or off the lifts, properly secure wheelchairs, and assist students in getting on and off the bus safely.  Some monitors work with special needs passengers on assigned routes.

 

Mechanics

Successful candidates will have experience working on buses or trucks and be able to perform routine repairs and preventative maintenance on all bus systems including engines, transmissions, brakes, steering and drivelines, and electrical.  ASE certification is preferred.  High school degree or GED, and technical training on truck or bus engines are required. Must have own tools and possess a current, valid drivers license.  ASE certification preferred.  

 

Foreman

Foremen are responsible for directing and training shop personnel to ensure proper maintenance and repair of vehicles, vehicle and passenger safety, and compliance with all regulations governing the vehicles.  Technical degree specializing in automotive or truck repair and ASE certification preferred.  This position requires five years prior experience with progressive responsibility in diagnostics, maintenance and repair of diesel and gas powered buses or trucks including air conditioning, wheelchair lifts, and other associated systems.  Experience using computer-based diagnostic tools and maintenance programs is required.
